Mickey Rooney seemed to have a quite messy autograph throughout his career, I’m just wondering if this was perhaps a version of it? If not, how was he TTM...is this an example of a secretarial? Thanks!

Gregg, In my humble opinion, not his autograph.

Thanks David for your reply. Would you happen to know if this was a known secretarial style?

Greg, I doubt it. His way back in the days autographs could be legible. Then there was "Studio Fan Mail" that was crap. In his old age, from what I understand he could not afford a secretary. This just looks like a forgery. The 4 or 5 times I met him he could at least write something that looked like an "M" in Mickey.

Thanks again David for your great insight on this one!

That one is nothing like some had in 2007 in Greenville TX when he did a one-man show.  His autograph had a lot of zig zag to it, kind of sloppy but maybe consistent about it.  I have a few on the bay, young headshot and program by he and his last wife.  Might still have one malt shop photo w/ Judy Garland that he signed, since I still have the image of one.

Is anyone familiar with his vintage signature? Is this one legit?

Mupplvr, Looks good to me for vintage.

Thanks!

Okay, I’m hoping this ones better? ;)

Greg. I think your Rooney has a chance….but I will not commit 100%. There was a collector named Joe who had a nice collection. My "Luck" is earlier than yours. Maybe at least a 20 year difference.

This is the type of autograph I received

Todd has a later in his life, that he tended to scribble at signing events. He was rarely friendly…….unless you had something rare or exceptional he wanted for his collection….always seemed to argue with his wife etc.
