I don't think this is a genuine Marilyn Monroe autograph. I don't know what her secretarials look like to be able to identify this as one, though.

Also--I've heard she never signed photos in red pen. Whether that's 100% the case, I don't know.

I would also like to add...in the book Operation Bullpen there was talk that she only signed in RED ink...now if the forgers knew that bit off info that could really be bad news for true collectors...not to say that the piece in question is bad...I don't own any Monroe items...just throwing out there that the forgers also had the inside scoop of the RED ink...

I'll clarify that the reason I don't think it's good isn't because it's signed in red. It's because it didn't look like the exemplars I checked.

In my opinion not authentic. A similar signature is illustrated in Charles Hamilton's "collecting Autographs and manuscripts" on page 277 as "studio forgery". I have seen this many times and mostly in red. Cant recall if I have ever seen authentic signatures on photos in red.

On page 227 of Charles Hamilton's " Collecting Autographs and Manuscripts" I see no examples of a Marilyn Monroe Autograph. My copy is from 1961- University of Oklahoma Press.

Did Mr. Hamilton write a different version of this book???

Her secretarial was much rounder and childlike. I think this was an attempt by someone other than the secretary.
