Hi, to be fair the frame cost me £150 ($223) the actual cheque cost me £550 ($815) so total cost was £700 ($1041) Here in the UK I have not come across any other signed Ali cheques, so in that respect it is a rare item, very nicely displayed with rock solid provenance, so obviously I don't agree with your opinion sir, but respect it none the less.
Sorry to say, you really overpaid for the check. I'd say fair value is $300-$400 US, and that's assuming you can find a check collector who wants it. Is there some hidden significance to the check? Is it signed on the front, too, perhaps as Clay?
Hi, it is signed 'muhammad ali' you are right in that signed casius clay would make it much for value, it is an expensive frame and nicely presented and PSA authenticated.
You might try checking the sold items on eBay to see what similar checks went for. Just a quick glance on what is offered there now they are in the $600-1500 range but that seems very high to me. People often have overly inflated prices on eBay just hoping for the best. The completed or sold listings might be a better indicator of what is actually being paid for them. I do not really collect sports autographs so I do not know how much it is worth. I do collect checks so I like that this autograph is pretty clean as far as endorsed checks go with no visible bank marks near it.
Thank you sir for your feedback.
