Never seen one like this. If it is authentic, it's a style I've never seen before. Some elements are there, but on a whole, I'm not comfortable with it.

Just to quantify the misnomers I see, here are several:

The proportions of the "Th" and the "M" to the rest of the signature are freakishly large. The caps and 'h' about 10 times the relative volume of any of the other (small case) letters in this example.

The start and end points of each line are off. The trajectory inconsistent with typical authentic Munson examples.

Never seen a Valentine heart shaped "M" (the top) like that, and again, the starting line is very long and untypical in formation.

The entire architecture of the signature is untypical for any period of Munson's authentic signatures that I've encountered; from 1969 right until the end.

Remarkably said. Thank you.

That blue ink and the uneven lines in the autograph, both remind me of the Yankees TTM responses (with signatures stamped into small photos) from the late 70's to mid 80's. That being said, I haven't seen this Munson before.

Pete, that was my first impression also, that this was a pre-print.  What size is this photo?

above on ebay  and below in CT at a sports shop

Both seem to be 4x5

and my money is on them being those steel stamped impressions into the photos.

Highly likely

For $700.00?????

I am in shock that more of these aren't pictured online. The diagonal Billy is the stamp, the up the side is handsigned and the reason for the PSA sticker.  These are just the few samples I could locate with a quick search.

I remember these from the '78 team.  at one point in time or another I saw an example of every one on that team, they were rampant back then.  And actually very nice.

Yep, and they did them year after year into the middle 80's. I know I have a Don Mattingly somewhere.
