We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.
The new system has been in place for 2 months now and it's working well.
This video shows you how easy the new forum is to use.
You can follow the forum and be notified of new signings exclusively! And you can enter a musician's name in the forum's search box and find any discussions about them.
Be sure to click the Follow link at the bottom of the list of discussions.
Try it...I think you'll like it.

Though I recall a member posting a blog asking about this a while ago, I could not relocate it for my purpose in this discussion.
It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.
I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.
So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

I honestly don't see what the problem with this one is. That has been Ezra (the frontman)'s signature for a few years now. On the listing it says: "Purchase includes CD booklet signed by Ezra Koenig."
And I honestly don’t see that you don’t see a problem here.
It was listed as signed by Ezra Koenig, that’s right.
But it is a ridicoulos signature, it’s not even a scribble. Maybe his cat signed it. Not every fan does a signature study before buying. In fact, that shouldn’t be necessary at all if the artist has a minimum of pride and respect for his fans when signing stuff.
His signature is short yes, but this is even way shorter.
I won’t return it to save me the hassle of shipping etc, but very dissapointed on this one.
Really not trying to come off as needlessly contrarian here, but what defines a ridiculous signature, and what makes a signature have value? I don't think it's the amount of characters in the signature that determines whether or not I'm happy to have it in my collection.
I hear you, letters is kind of subjective but this is a BAND...how does a full band have one signature on it?
That's fair, I understand the disappointment in that regard. But the listing did clearly say it's just Ezra that signed these CDs. Some fans speculate that the other two members of the band had a diminished role on this project and that it's more of Ezra's brainchild. Still, the vinyl was signed by all 3 members so I understand why some people may have been confused with the CD orders.
If it said that then that's on me, sorry.
The fact that only Ezra signed it is of course no problem, that was clearly stated before.
What defines a ridicoulos signature? Strange question. What defines an ugly or handsome person? It's no exact science.
But we can generally agree this is a ridicoulos disrispectful signature, you don't even see his initials let alone something of his name. If you are happy with this than that's fine. He can even draw an even smaller stroke next time, will save some of his apparently precious time. Or maybe just put a dot.
Your criticism seems to be that he doesn't put enough effort into his signature because his time is "too precious," but these CDs weren't sold at a markup for being signed. It's just a bonus for ordering. I don't think he needed to sign them in the first place, yet took the time to do so. The less effort thing to do would be to not sign them at all, which is what most musicians do when there's no financial incentive.
Are you his manager? :-)
We can discuss till next month, for me it's ridicoulos. And indeed, would be much better and much more respectful to not sign instead. No one would be dissapointed then.
Seems like only a vocal minority are disappointed.
"If he doesn't do it the exact way I want him to he shouldn't do it at all -- so that I'm not disappointed."
