We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.

The new system has been in place for 2 months now and it's working well.

This video shows you how easy the new forum is to use.

You can follow the forum and be notified of new signings exclusively! And you can enter a musician's name in the forum's search box and find any discussions about them.

Be sure to click the Follow link at the bottom of the list of discussions.

Try it...I think you'll like it.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

Every once in a while, the artist will post pics of them actually signing the store/promo items.  Might be fun to follow up any posts with such images, Tweets, website photos, etc.  I've seen a few artists do this recently (Lights, Banks, Paramore, etc).

Lauren from Chvrches posted a pic of her getting her stack of postcards to sign for the preorder promo last weekend.

Hi everyone,

I continue to find this thread very useful as i'm sure all of you do.  I just had a request.. I know that most people on here post autographs from well-known or historically signficant musicians but wanted to add that if you guys are seeing things from more modern music genres/bands, I'd really appreciate those posted as well.  Although I love finding autographs from the classics, I also routinely buy or obtain hard rock and heavy metal groups/artists as well so if you happen to come across any of those (outside of Newbury, jb, recordstore.co.uk), please post them too!

Thanks!

Don Henley has a solo cd/lp coming out in sept. On his website he has bundles with a book that will have the first 100 sold autographed. I bought one but have no idea if I will receive a signed one. I don't mind gambling but figured Id put the info out there.

Looks like you got in.. it now states this..

**First 100 signed copies have been ordered and are no longer available

Thanks for the info. Sorry to waste anybodys time. Just read the Email a little while ago. I will keep lookin .

I gather that this forum's musical interests are pretty old school - primarily classic rock.  Seems like anything outside of that tends to get somewhat spotty attention.

Dont be like that Rich - I clicked on it.  :)  Looks like the USA is not getting the signed card, only UK.  Is that what you get from the website?

Mark

USA ones must have sold out sometime yesterday - it did say it was limited to 200.  UK and JB seem to still have it.

I don't even know the names of some of these groups to google them. Ive never heard of Chvrches.

That's when I meant in my response to Christopher.  If it's not a household name, especially an older more established artist, I feel like I'm not being very helpful.  Even when I posted a Florence and the Machine signed preorder (a bonafide star in the UK who just had her first US #1 album - and an increasingly difficult signer), there didn't seem to be too much interest.

Rich, when I found your link I went looking for the Florence & The Machine presale because I know how tough she is and it was no where to be found.  Not sure if I missed it or overlooked it but that could be why there wasn't much interest.  I personally appreciate anyone's efforts in this thread.  I'm sure there's a lot of people you've helped who may not come forward.  Keep up the great work.

It was back in February - here's the page when I first posted the link.  I believe it sold out in about a week.

Sanity Australia also send some signed booklets with their preorders, which was a surprise because that is not how they advertised it,
