Hi All,
My collecting days are coming to an end. I've been selling off this and that, downsizing to my personal favorites. Every attempt was made to obtain the signed photographs in character by named photographers or studios, with an eye to vintage, composition, condition, sig & ink quality, placement, paper weight, finish and all the other qualities I am always going on and on about. The Leigh is by Angus McBean of the Old Vic (he took many important photographs of the Beatles and one cover). The Crawford is by Frank Tanner and so on. An exception in some ways is the Dame Edith Evans magazine page from the British film The Whisperers. It is the only things I have seen - so it's a good placeholder, as is the Magnani - I need a signed still of some sort - this is an early photo shoot in Rome. I have original high quality stills that match each. The still I have for the Swanson/Sunset Blvd is a 1949 unused still of the take of Norma preparing to descend the staircase "of the palace" as it were. It had to be re-shot some time later as the suits thought she looked much too insane.
Sources include one old time dealer, HD, Kramer, Brucato, Houle and eBay for the Anderson.
