I have a $5 that was my husbands and I cant tell . Sorry I don't know these things and bless you all for helping .

OK my friend found out the dollar is real but the Mantle autograph was a fake made by some sort of electric copy pen. Please forgive me.... for  bugging you wonderful gentleman. Karen  Plus how are theses things possible???  Adding a fake autograph with an electric pen???? I must be getting old lol

No wonder I'm single lol lol

Hi Karen,

WE are NOT getting old. We are getting wise (I hope!). :-) It's a theory...

Why not post the $5 bill?

I think you are talking about an Autopen. That is a machine that takes a template made from a genuine signature and using any pen you want it can sign that signature over and over.  The good thing is they will be identical so easy to spot. Also, the older machines could not reproduce curves so compensated with a zig-zag you can often see without the aid of a glass. This machine has been around since the 1940's but mechanical devices like this have been used for centuries.

Autopen

It has the PSA paperwork. Plus still going through storage unit.

The Mantle $5?

yes, has a card that says inspected and authentic but not like the full page letter like some of his autos do

I don't use those services but you can get different types of Certificates etc, Post the $5 bill when you can so others can comment. I am not a sports guy but I try to help when I can.

Absolutely amazing but also very dangerous

Eric, thank you so much for all the help. Mantle was my late husbands favorite so the storage unit if full of cards and news papers and these autographs and I really want to thank you for all that you have done. it stinks most are bad but at least he got to enjoy his collection while he was still with us. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU AND STEVE AND EVERYONE WHOSE HAS HELPED . Sincerely Karen

It is my pleasure to try and help Karen :-) I think your husband was a lucky guy. ;)

You are sweet, and I was the lucky one. He was my grade school crush
