Well, I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Joe DiMaggio signed baseball. It's actually one of the signed photoballs from Yankee Clipper Enterprises - the Estate of Joe DiMaggio. I know these are not necessarily always authentic since unsigned ones are available for sale wherein a forger could do his work on a blank ball. However, there have recently been three or four of these signed photoballs on eBay that have also been PSA'd, although mine has not been. It just comes with the letter from Yankee Clipper Enterprises, Inc.

So I felt confident enough to make the purchase. Please let me know what you think. Do you think it's authentic or not? Thanks in advance.

It's the real Joe D and very nice.

Thanks, Big Bad John! Just curious, do you know Leroy Brown? Just kidding. I like your handle. It's got some pizazz to it!
I think it's a nice looking autograph as well. I suspect it was one of the first balls he signed on that particular day so that his hand was not too tired from signing yet.

You know, I think we all agree that, if you want one, it's not too hard to find a DiMaggio, Mantle, or Williams autograph because they took part in the Sports Collectors shows of the 80s and 90s.

However, though mine is not PSA'd, when you type in "Joe DiMaggio signed baseball PSA" on eBay, there are only about 180 hits that come up. I know you can buy them other places, but eBay has become sort of America's (as well as the rest of the world to a certain degree) de facto "local" Collectibles store.

And when you consider there are about 320,000,000 people in the USA, 180 verified authentic DiMaggio balls available for sale is not a lot. However many autographs those three signed in their day, the demand is still way bigger than the supply.
