Emma answered my second message. She wrote:
Hi Daniel
It was around April 2009 and he was with Nancy, I don’t recall the name of the restaurant but it was around the Marylebone area in London, I hope this helps.
Thanks
Emma
Strange because the Russian sekker told me that the previous owner (Emma) said that she worked as a waitress in a Chinese restaurant in America (unfortunately I do not remember which city) and received this autograph when Paul visited this restaurant. That's all what I know. As far as I remember, an autograph was given on a 2005 tour.
I have just sent the Russian seller a message and told him what she told me. Interesting to see what he will say about it.
This is what the Russian seller answered:
Hello! I am very glad that you have restored the correct story with my, I hope, help. Now, when I read it, I remembered what exactly such a story was in the description of the lot. It was a long time ago, there were a lot of autographs, the stories were not so important for me as they were for you, therefore the facts could not be kept in my head and I mixed everything up. Sorry for causing you this inconvenience. It would be better if I just wrote that I do not remember ...
I guess the Russian seller and Emma, both are telling the truth.
End of story :-)
I certainly hope so!
Terrier, both Roger Epperson and Garry King told me that the autograph is authentic and that there is no doubt regarding the ink. Both said the the ink is live and real. By the way, Jason from Tracks also told me that. So, I guess everything is good. (they all said that based only on the high quality scans I sent them).
I’m not questioning the authenticity at all. Never did. You said end of story and I was commenting on that.
I know the "story" should be second (obviously it being genuine is the most important) realistically anyone can make up a story on where and when something was signed.
That being said, it bothers me when the provenance is lost. I wish more people put inportance into keeping track of the history of an item they acquired.
I’ve never really paid attention to provenance. I guess mostly because you don’t know what to believe. The only items I own that I can say I’m confident in the provenance are a Macca signed album from tracks with a letter from the original owner, and a “Band of Joy” signed cd cover with Robert Plant and the whole band. I got it from my cousin who was the drummer.
