Hi everyone,
I’m new here and a beginner collector. This would be my first MJ piece and after doing some research and really digging around on eBay I’ve come across this MJ Auto. I’ve been going back and forth with the seller who is asking for $399. He has three different pieces and I’m looking to purchase the first one below (tongue out). The seller apparently obtained these in the 90s when he was attending Jordan’s Summer Camp and Jordan would sign one thing a week with UDA rep with UDA sticker and then he would sign other things without the rep. What do you all think?

I could be wrong, but I am thinking no good. On the first one, you can see where it stops at the bottom J and then starts again. His loop at the bottom of the J is usually continuous.
Thanks so much for the reply Steve. I have asked this seller a ton of questions and have really tried to figure out whether it's legit or not. Since he's claiming he personally got this autograph from MJ and all around the same time I have been going back and forth on this. Also asked whether he could guarantee it's authenticity (if I were to send it to beckett or jsa) and his response was: "I have no idea if it would pass or not. That has never concerned me. I suppose it all depends upon who is reviewing it and how much they really know. I've seen plenty of terribly obvious fakes on ebay that somehow received authenticity from PSA, JSA, etc. So your question is impossible to really answer. MJs autograph changed significantly at least 5 times over his NBA career. LeBron's has as well. After my 12 yrs with MJ, I signed a photo contract with LJ in 2006. Worked with him 6 years. So I've seen pretty much everything be signed by those 2 guys."
First of all you have no way to verify anything this guy has to say. Jordan did kids basketball camps and he did sign, usually one item for the kids. The problem is that everyone knows this, so it is easy to use that as his in. Contact PSA or Beckett for a quick opinion. If this person is positive that these are legit (since he got them himself), then he should be looking at a much higher price. If he is pushing you to buy from him at a significant discount, that raises a red flag.
Thanks Steve -- I couldn't agree with you more. He's actually been very non-chalant about the whole conversation and at no point has pressured me into the purchase whatsoever. He's calmly been answering my questions. I actually asked him that same exact question, why he wasn't looking for a higher price and here's what he said: "Well, if it were one of my UDA pieces of course I'd ask for much much more. But I am aware that without a COA, some bidders will value it less. I've seen similar signed MJ 8x10 photos sell for about $500 recently so I figured my buy it now price was quite fair. But if bidding starts, it might go for a bit more than the buy it now price."
I also brought up whether he could send me a photo of one of his UDA pieces and here was his response to that: "If I were at home yes, absolutely...but I am helping my almost 90 yr old mother and staying with her (at my childhood home closer to Chi-town) through the end of the week. Dad passed about 5 yrs ago and with this virus situation she needs alot of help so us kids take turns. I do, however, have a pic on my phone of a pair of LeBrons size 16 shoes he signed and gave to me at camp that are UDA like some of my MJ items. My MJ pics are all on film, not digital."
And here's that Lebron pic he sent:
