Many years ago my father mailed this off to Armstrong and this is what he received back. Authentic and value?

Hello,

You'll want Steve Zarelli to look at this. With very limited knowledge here, I must say this looks hesitant/odd in form and shape. A few things look strange/compressed to me - the "N", the last name structure and the "g". However, I know Armstrong had several styles and variations and I look forward to seeing the opinions of others and learning about these.

Hello again,

I am thinking of 2 things:

1) Steve wrote that many later true autographs might be incorrectly labelled not genuine by the novice. Not sure how much to make of the baseline for example.

2) If this is a later signature, does that dot over the "i" mean anything (does it look earlier?)?

Eric

Thanks for your help. This came from a collection of 100 other autographed first day postcards. My father in law who recently passed away did talk some of his collection. I feel certain that all of these autographs are no later than the 1960's as that is when he said he stopped mailing. He said he never paid for any of them. I feel confident that this is the signature he received back in the mail when he sent it off. im just not sure who actually signed it. He does have a large quantity of space related ones and thus far in my research they do appear legit for whatever that is worth.
