Hi All,

Im new to this page and am fairly new to collecting memorabilia as well.

My partner and i are huge Nivarna fans and i really want to get a signed album but i am really unsure how to tell authenticity and from looking thru the threads on here there seems to be allot of fake stuff.

If anyone can help me out with the Authenticity of this it would be great!

Thanks Haley

Mark, i know its frustrating, but Morales is notorious in the autograph community. Im not kidding when i tell you that its very rare to find one example he has certed thats authentic. His authentications are so bad its pitiful. Mention the name Morales to any collector/dealer and they will run to the hills. His opinion is worth less than a 2 year olds. Literally. He is on ebays banned list and that takes alot of work. Unfortunatley i do believe your items are both fakes. Cobain is a very hard autograph to deal with. And finding an authentic example is extremely rare. If you want to get the best opinion you could possibly get i would do 2 things. One is to send it to PSA quick opinion, even if you have to make a mock auction on ebay to do it. I imagine the result will be not genuine, but if its unable to render, or likely genuine. Then id send the autograph in and get it looked at in person.

The 2nd is get an opinion from the member JSeah on here. Athough he has already given you an opinion, he knows more on Nirvana sigs than just about anyone on this site from what i know. You should also contact the seller and try and get your money back, as im pretty sure what the authenticity is. In the mean time research Chris Morales. You will be mortified. IM sorry to report such bad news, but at least you may be able to get a refund.

And just as an aside, Chris Morales's testimony doesnt stand up in court. That has been proven in court. The judge dismissed everything he said if im recalling things correct, b/c his authentications were so far off. So please dont think that his testimony will stand up. His authentications are just unbelievable.

wow, OK . I will check your info stated on Mr. Morales for fact. Very dissappointing and sounds like someone in his position should not be preforming professional hand writing analysis for criminal cases and the government. Let alone rock star auto's. I will look for another creditable handwriting specialist based on the feedback, but it seems everyone talks s*** about each other in this field including PSA. and at this point in my collecting I know who the players are. The Nirvana's auto's I posted are one thing, I know they are easy enough to fake like the ones on Ebay now, i'll even give you the peace sign explanation as enough reason to say one of mine are fake. What about the other looks off? My Kurt Cobain writing is a whole other thing. This peice is not to be confused with an autograph so would you agree its not the job for autograph authenticaters but for a non auto dealer/collector such as a hand writing specialist outside my rock auto collecting realm to examine for authenticity of the writer and not rock god. Before I burn this one of a kind peice of forged history that nobody's ever seen even to make a creative reproduction of;  I'd like to ask, is there anyone else besides PSA you recommend that will hold credit (either way) for this item or is this forum of self serving opinions? I'm defiently getting another "professional expert analysis" from a hand writing specialist outside this world. If it comes back authentic a 3rd time as Kurt's Cobain's handwriting I will let you all know so if  you want to use it for authenticating other people's treasure's, you can for a fee. Please members post close up pics of what you "think" are authentic Nirvana items to compare to. Cause its dosen't seem to be about real or fake but whom you get to $authenticate$ it. Def. not selling on Ebay. Hit me up if there any interested fans. I'll tell you the rest of the story.

Here is an authentic Kurt Cobain written set list from April 23, 1990 when they were playing at the original 9.30 Club in Washington DC. It has solid provenance. Sold on ebay a few months ago.

It is my opinion that Mark is trolling this board.

I kinda got that feeling too...

what am I trolling for? Nothing. Don't read into it. Your not that important. I'm just a collector that you might have bought some awsome stuff from, without even knowing. Mostly on EBay. I got most of my stuff in person being the ripe age for 80's, 90's, and grunge and living in N.Y.C. and as much as its nice to get feedback and help out lets get real. The authenicating game through Ebay is a racket. There all tarnished in one way or another. Documented all on the web. Recommend you google them all before choosing your authentication and before getting anyone's opinions .  There is no trust or guarentee.  Just be a fan so nobody loses out on some good Gems. Open to the public non-bias my a**.

These two 7" I got signed when I met all 3 member of Nirvana in Stockholm, June 1992. So these are as genuine as they can be. But I agree that there is hard to authenticate Kurts writing. He was all over the place. Click on the picture to get a better image.

Nirvana

Well. The auction for the fake Nirvana signed items has ended. The fake signed bass drum head went for $2100.00 and the above fake signed CD cover went for $710.00. I do not know what the other 3 fake CD covers went for. Sad that all these bidders were all ripped off!! :(
