NEWLY SURFACED LENNON SIGNED IMAGINE ALBUM???

What's your opinions on this Lennon autographed IMAGINE album from WFIL?

I believe it's AUTHENTIC. That would make it one only 12? Known to exist. I used to own one and sold it at GOTTAHAVEROCKANDROLL auctions. This has probably one of the best placed signatures I've seen on an IMAGINE album. It also has the doodle and the year, which is rare for WFIL. I only know of a few others with the doodle.

I feel it is very similar to this WFIL signed TWO VIRGINS.

Pictured is another from WFIL with the doodle and year which looks like it reads 78 but its 75.

Also pictured is a 1975 test press album inner sleeve signed by John. Pretty similar doodle and date formations.

I like the fact it has the doodle and year which is SPOT ON to my eyes. It gives more forensics for you to look at other than an autograph which can be practiced over and over.

What's the provenance of the album? Is it currently for sale somewhere?

Acquired in person on Friday may 16, 1975. Was emailed to me seeking my authentication services. I asked for a scan & if it is for sale. I got the scan but no answer on it being for sale or not.

If it was emailed to you seeking your authentication services why did you have to ask for a scan?

Sorry, I think my question was missed. You said she emailed it to you seeking your authentication services. Then you said you asked for a scan. Why did you need a scan if she already emailed it to you?

To see a clearer image of the autograph as I believe she took photos with her phone.

WFIL Man, the image below shows the emails I got with the 2 different versions of the reply you posted to this discussion yesterday. This was the first one:

"Acquired in person on Friday May 16, 1975. Was emailed to me wanting my opinion and seeking authentication. I checked, It is not for sale."

Then you deleted that one and posted this:

"Acquired in person on Friday may 16, 1975. Was emailed to me seeking my authentication services."

Then you edited the second reply to what it is now. We don't get email notifications of edits:

"Acquired in person on Friday may 16, 1975. Was emailed to me seeking my authentication services. I asked for a scan & if it is for sale. I got the scan but no answer on it being for sale or not."

  • First you say it's not for sale.
  • Then you say nothing about whether it's for sale or not.
  • Then you say you asked if it was for sale but got no answer.

Could you explain that please?

I asked if it was for sale or If she was planning on contacting an auction but got no response, so I assumed it's not for sale, but I cannot state that it is not for sale based off of no answer being given so I changed it to I am unsure if it is for sale or not.

I showed it to Dylan at gottahaverockandroll auctions and gave my opinion on it in case she contacts them.

If you don't know if she's thinking about selling it or not why did you show it to him? Why do you think she'd contact that dealer?

In case she decides to.

I did refer her to him since I sold mine there.

OK, thanks.
