Paul Mccartney Signature or not?

Bought a bass guitar from a large nationwide auction house. They did not advertise it as having Paul's signature only that it had "writing on it in silver ink" (I didn't actually buy it based on the signature - just the bass itself).

This looks a lot like a current Paul McCartney signature but I'm having trouble finding enough sources to compare it to. The pics of the bass and a close up of the sig are attached, along with one confirmed album signed by him in 2007 that I found on Frank Callazzo's website. They look similar. Anyone have any experience we his signature or can point me to any links online to compare it to? I'm not looking for 60's/Beatles autographs as his has changed since then and many were faked or done my staff anyway. Really looking for a positive solo signing on something that would be for a fan (as opposed to a formal check signing etc..) Thanks!

this is a tough one.  it has some positives, but the spacing in Paul seems off.  Maybe Roger can take a look for you.

Hopefully you can get the ink off without hurting the finish as it is not Paul's signature

And that is based on what information?I've found a few links online to other signed items that seems to be a VERY close match (though no signature will match exactly, there are repeated similarities.

Both are strikingly similar.

Well the 5 or so signatures on Rodger's site are ALL different in format, spacing, version of the last name, the First C and Second C etc... And NONE of them look similar to the the one on Frank's Site. I'm not saying Rodger's aren't valid, but they are different. And of all those mine is most like the one on Franks' site - especially in the CC and underline even including the curl back at the end of the underline (you have to zoom mine up to see that).

All I'm asking for is for him to explain why is not a valid signature when comparing it to those he has, and the other samples I sent. It was an easy simple and polite request. Your input was typical of internet chatter - worthless since you added no value and didn't provide any worthwhile facts - just criticism. Save the forum space for people who add to the conversation.

As to spotlightauthentics - yep it happens and I have quotes from Paul saying "Why am I signing this baseball - I don't even play baseball".  They are those people that are just collecting the autographs for profit - they don't care what it is on.

I looked at Spotlightauthentics and didn't find anything that I thought was genuine. I don't know who have signed the autographs, but it's not the band members mentioned in the descriptions.

Forgeries on that site range from poor to spectacularly poor.

I agree with Jim that the McCartney on his bass looks very much like the ones on the spotlightauthentics site that he references,  which supports Roger's opinion, because the signatures on that site are bogus.
