Hi what is your opinion on this Paul McCartney signed guitar.

Guitar will be auctioned in next few weeks by quite reputable auction company. (I tried to google them and found only possitive responses and feedbacks, no articles about fake items.)

They claim to be autographed in 2009.

Right handed fender has almost nothing in common with Paul, but I love the fact it is on guitar and not on pickguard.

All opnions will be valued.

Thanks

Again, it's a few years earlier, but you can see the similar letter formations in the "cCart" portion of the signature. I think that's what's making it look unusual to some.

I totally agree, there is no similarity --

I'm afraid I still don't like it either. Apart from anything a 'full' signature like this in 2009 is very unusual. If it's genuine I would have thought, as Richard says, it would be a charity sig in which case he would have taken his time to sign it and would have done it at a more favourable angle so we don't get the slightly squashed 'McCartney' bit.

He was still signing full signatures in 2009.

I was talking to a couple the other day who got Paul. They said if he takes the item off you he will sign his full name. If he doesnt take the item off you he'll just sign Paul.

So, hes still signing his full name now. Just harder to get.

When I say 'full signature' I don't mean signing simply more than 'Paul'. These days you're lucky to get an autograph that he signs simply 'Paul'. You are extremely lucky to get an autograph that he signs 'Paul McC' with that squiggle bit at the end (as he did at the recent HMV signing and the Ecce Cor Meum signing he did in 2006). To get a full signature like the one posted in the pic above has been near impossible for years. If he does sign like that it is likely it was for a charity.

I know what you meant and he was still signing full name signatures with the "T" in 2009.

After spending some more time on this signature, I have to agree that there are problems with it. That includes the "Paul" portion of the signature.

Thanks for all your reactions. Here is the original auction listing with some aditional info like: The signature was obtained at the O2 Arena in 2009 by a Technician who brought it along for Paul McCartney to sign...

I seen this in the auction but I personally wouldn't go near it. Just doesn't seem right to me.
