Hi Matthew,

I cant comment on Collins, but the Slash looks off to me. The skull is much closer to the real thing than what i normally see in forgeries, but it too looks askew. But the thing that really makes me question it, is the formation of the autograph. The angle is odd, and the las formation is way off compared to most examples. And the ending is off to in my opinion. Slash's autograph has remained pretty consistent since the start of his career, and this just doesnt fit the mold in my opinion. But id wait for more opinions.

Take care,

Carl

I don't think Slash is legit.  The skull is not right( but is a better attempt than most) and the h is bad on Slash.

Neither of these autographs are real in my opinion. Phil Collins have the wrong slant on the signature and it is the same with Slash.

Sorry!

Yeah, the Slash seems off. There are a few Slash threads/scans in the archives, but I'll post the one I got in person last year for comparison.

Thanks for the comparison Brian much appreciated,I tend to agree with the others about the angus, collins not sure at all about that one,the springsteen I'm in two minds about,I have one IP from about 10 years ago on a tambourine cover and very very close to the auotgraph on the postcard,I will post that when I get a chance.....thankyou all for your opinions much appreciated..Matthew......p.s. does anyone else have examples of a SLASH signature they could post

thanks for these TW,the slash signature on the photo at the top of this link doesn't look that different to the one on the guitar or some of the others or is my eyesight that bad, what do you think TW ?

I just do not like the big loop that is created by the transition from the S to the H.  The nose on the skull does not look right either, he doesn't usually just draw a circle.  I could be wrong though.

Hi Matthew,

Their really is no chance that the Slash autograph in the original post is authentic. Honestly it is off in every way possible. Their really is no chance whatsoever that it is good.

The good news though, is that authentic Slash signatures are very abundant and he has always been a very good signer. You can easily snatch up an authentic 8 by 10 for under 40 dollars if you are patient and do some looking. And you can probably get it for under 35. Most of what you see on ebay with Slash, in my opinion is likely authentic. Their are certainly fakes there, but Slash is such a good signer that many people have items for sale. Just post any signatures you are considering here and ask for opinions. Hes a pretty easy signature to tell with.

Another very good thing about Slash is that he answers his fan mail with authentic autographs, and all it costs is the price of postage. He is quite slow most of the time (6months and up sometimes) because he is so busy, but that is to be expected. I have got him twice through the mail, and have sent him a total of 3 items over the years. So thats a darn good success rate. And i have never seen a return TTM that i thought was questionable that came from a legit member.

I have numerous Slash autos in my collection, and i have a beautiful 8 by 10 right now for sale of Slash playing, but it is dedicated to me. If interested just let me know.

I personally dont think the Bruce is legit either, but i am positive the Slash autograph is bad. Definetly do not purchase it, in my opinion that is. If you want to be absolutely positive though, you should contact Roger Epperson and get his quick opinion.

Take care,

Carl

The Slash is not authentic...

Attached is the Real autograph and sketch that Slash kindly did for me!

All the best!
