Lance Armstrong

Well spotted!

Thank you  so much for your valuable recognizance, I appreciate it. And thanks also to the other members. I did look inside the magazine but probably glossed over the article by Lance as it was not of interest to me. But even if I read it I still would not have given it a second thought that it was his signature on the cover, it's indecipherable. And thanks to Pete Chuka for the added info about Lance's charity simplified by the Livestrong bracelet on the cover. Unknown trivia to me, who knew!

Thanks, all.

Pete knew! Often, certainly not always, there is a reason an item was signed.

Hi,

You have already looked at who and what is in this issue, who the articles are about and by? It might be worth ruling out.It is a place to start anyway.

Amrstrong/Newsweek

It seems there as an essay by Armstrong in this issue.

Or you can take a mighty leap....and come to the conclusion that the reason it is signed is the Livestrong bracelet on the cover. Seeing as it is the symbol of his charity.

That too! I don't know anything about sports or Armstrong and his charity so... To quote Ralph Kramden (regarding golf), "...I don't even know where left field is...".

Really just dumb luck I suppose. The shop I work in handles some sports autographs and our next door neighbor 12 years ago was a Bike Shop. Back then plenty of people were indeed supporters of both the charity and the multiple Tour de France winner. Today, although it is still a viable charity, no one shows the support by wearing these bracelets, thanks to Lance's admissions of doping and cheating.
