Hi Bruce,
This is interesting. And is beyond my skill to say for sure. I went back through my exemplars and only found one example that had a style similar to this, and as it turns out, its very similar. The other band members i dont know of, but the example i have is also of a full signed LP. I cant remember where i got this example, but i have it down as a confirmed example (wont swear to it, as i cant remember the source though). It compares fairly well, but the signature in question is very neat, even for Prince. But that isnt a give away one way or the other. One thing i have found with Prince autographs though, is that they almost always have a leaning forward to the right slant to the letters. Sometimes its exaggerated, and sometimes its slight, but its always there in my experience. And typically its present over the entire signature. The signature in question really doesnt have that except for the N, but even that is slight. But in my experience, that slant should be present over the entire signature.
But this is one for someone better than me. Bjarne is very good for Prince, and hopefully he will comment. And yeah, that price is ridiculous in my opinion. Here is that example i have:
That is the style of Prince graphs i am used to seeing to Bruce, and i have that one in my files as well.. I only had that one example in my files, and i just cant remember where it was from. If it were me, id pass or get Rogers opinion on that LP. But at that price, i would pass for sure
Yes, there was NO WAY I was gonna pay anything near 8 grand. I offered 3000 and he turned it down flat. (If he accepted, I was going to ask Roger E.) I've never seen such a nice fully signed LP by Prince the and the Revolution -- that's how scarce they are. And certainly none passed by PSA, JSA, or Roger.
