The Beatles: Quarrymen - Is it worthwhile the previous John Lennon's band before Beatles? Do you know if the signatures are real?

I'm not familiar with Quarrymen and if this band autographs have some value.  The price is irrelevant but I don't want to have autographs that are worthless just because they were related to John Lennon before The Beatles.

Please let me know if I'm in front a a true gem and if these signatures are real.

Thank you so much in advance

That's a cool assortment of Quarrymen items.

While they are indeed related to The Beatles and John Lennon, none of the items are actually from John.

Thank you for your thoughts Jim McFiver . I'm a fan and a novice collector of autographs related to Rock legends. Since there is not signed by Lennon, I just wonder if anything signed from Quarrymen has any sort of sentimental value (and probably monetary value as I never sell my collectibles).

I don't want a collection of fluff stuff. Maybe I'm a fool and a complete ignorant and should buy immediately this stuff if I love The Beatles, but I never heard about Quarrymen.

Please, let me know if the autographs are real and if is a must to get this stuff as I have the chance to do so. Once again, I don't even know who the Quarrymen are.

Maybe a Beatles fan would kill me, if they could get this memorabillia at this cheap prices, but I would prefer something signed from one of the Beatles.

Would love more input from you and rest of this community.
Thank you so much.

John Lennon attended Liverpool's Quarry Bank School (from 1952-1957); it was at Quarry Bank were John and several friends formed The Quarrymen, the name from the Quarry Bank School song titled 'The Song Of The Quarry.'

Their value? Since most everything in the collection was created post-Beatles (within the last 30-40 years or so), and doesn't contain anything Lennon, it shouldn't be more that a few hundred dollars, if that.

But collectors abound and many fine-tune their searches, depending on their interests and how much they're willing to spend.

My advice:

FIRST - learn ALL about The Beatles. Listen to all the records, read Mark Lewisohn's book, start discovering their history.

SECOND: Once you've decided on your area of interest, focus on one or two aspects of Beatles collecting - and become an amateur expert. Collect original issue 45's with picture sleeves, for example. Or SELTAB items made during the actual years of Beatlemania. Whatever, it's best to specialize, to avoid the predicament which the Quarry Bank items is causing you.

THIRD: Beatles collecting is Blue Chip, the Rolls Royce of our hobby. But always remember: buyer beware. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. There is NO shortcut to research and knowledge.

FORTH: You'll never go wrong collecting what you love - it will always be valuable to you, regardless of the marketplace.

Good luck on your journey.

Dear Jim,

My gratitude to you and your savvy words,

Fondly,

David
