Hi John, i cant comment on the signatures. It would def be a strange place for a forger to put a set of fakes though. I hope its real for you. But if you havent bought yet, i probably wouldnt. It looks like the patch is cotton or some synthetic of the kind and when signed fade really bad through the years. I have one signed patch that i got 3 years ago, and honestly i can barely read it now and it was with a sharpie. Unfortunately it just doesnt hold up well through the years, at least not in my experience. I would just be afraid to through alot of money into this and then in 15 to 20 years, it be unreadable. But thats just my opinion. And a patch also makes it so much more hard to authenticate because the patch allows for a forger to make alot of mistakes and cover them up pretty easy. And the lack of definition just makes it so hard to tell. It would definetly be easy to forge, but again, on the back of a patch? but i wouldnt put it past them. I would have to pass just on the difficulty to make a solid identification, and the signature surface.
Thanks, Trapper! I did buy this a few years ago on eBay for very little money. Thought it was interesting, and I thought the signatures looked fairly accurate.
