Garry King is well liked by some but I see a big problem with some of the items I see on his site.  I'm not referring to Kenny Baker and other small bits but rather the large $$ music items.

Dealers in the UK might not be aware of current music item that they offer for sale.  In another thread several autographs from Autografica were deemed fake.  The items were Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston and Harrison Ford.

He might not know there is a problem.

So these have been labelled as fakes end of?

Im bursting with anticipation and intrigue has Adrian has said he can provide video and photo proof that these are all genuine!!

I must also add that everyone of the AFTAL dealers implemented here have all removed their MJ's from sale. They are all good guys here in the UK and are handling this correctly. They have all been told that authenticity can be proven on them. So I wait with baited breath here!!

Personally I do think the commenting should be held off now until this video and photo proof is seen. My god if its genuine an awful lot of people here are gonna be eating very large slices of humble pie!!

Mick - there was a UACC RD on EBAY that had a similar claim.  In that instance it was a Charlton Heston and this UACC RD also claimed insigning proof.  However, the picture that was trying to be passed off as proof was indeed a signing, just not that one nor was the picture of the secretary which the signature is reflective of.

that will become the next problem for you to wrestle with once the alledged supporting evidence is produced.

I have said for a long time that the term 'in person' should only ever be used by the person offering the signature if they themselves obtained it in person, and not via anyone else whatsoever.

What does that even mean?  Listen, I work very hard for my money.  Reputable dealers sell their items for a lot of money and the idea that some of them may know nothing about authentication but certify their merchandise based on the word of some guy on the street named Adrian or Dominic or whatever is absolutely unbelievable.  You mentioned earlier that we need to educate ourselves.  Duly noted.  I have received more education concerning the hobby of autograph collecting in the past few weeks than I could have possibly dreamed of thanks to everyone on this site including one very passionate collector who was either banned or simply quit due to all of this nonsense.  I hope that these Michael Jackson autographs turn out to be genuine.  I honestly do.  But if they do in fact turn out to be what some people are claiming I suggest a massive recall.  Not everyone that purchased one is aware of what is going on.  Steve, once again, thank you so much for this website.

I agree Garry but often times it seems to gain a new definition as what appears in this case and the case I described.

as Mike Shepherd has duly noted there are lots of people who trust but as Ronald Reagan would say, "but Verify".  For me that especially extends to dealers be they UACC or AFTAL or IADA.

The argument of "under the influence of drugs" while always a possibility but has been previously shown doesn't quite fit the magnitude.

Come on Mick be serious, how is anybody going to be able to prove that 100's of signed photos and cards and whatever are being signed with video proof?  I'm sure Adrian got a few real ones and has proof, I myself have seen a couple but not in the magnitude in which these were sold.  Is there video with Dominic too?

I know too that Adrian did have a crew with him when he collected, he did it himself.  Now explain how he got so many things signed when Michael's popularity was at an all time low when these were signed.  I was offered 100 photos 2 weeks before he died for $7500.  I told the collector I would buy 2 for $75 but no way would buy 100.  It would have taken a lifetime to sell them, or his death.  There are too many other celebs that he could have been chasing and been much easier to sell.  This was all done after his death.

Dont get me wrong Roger Im notsaying anyone is right or wrong here Im just reserving judgment until he's had a chance to show the proof he claims to have

Interesting.  Now all of a sudden you are not saying anyone is right or wrong and you are just reserving judgement.  I understand that I am nothing more than an insignificant collector but I said that from the beginning when you were calling people who voiced their opinions forgers and demanded that they be silenced.  I have already explained our Fifth Amendment to you so perhaps you should take a look at our First Amendment.

Mike, If your going to post a comment about me please make sure its correct. I have NEVER called anyone a forger and have NEVER commented on any of the signatures. Apart from the Harrison Ford. Which I also didnt say was good or bad just commented about the huge variations in his autograph.

I did ask Mike Aring if he was but never called or accused him of being. Incidentally thats a question that he never answered

Feel free to correct me? But make sure you read back first please so you get it right this time!!

Correction.  You were suggesting that people who voiced their opinions were forgers.  You say po-tay-to and I say po-tah-to.  I am certain that people can decide for themselves.

no no no my friend you have me wrong there

I have absolutely no problem with anyone voicing their opinion. Whatever it is. What I took offence at was pure and simply one person screaming the F word against the wrong person without thinking and his anonymous sheep baaaaing behind him

Please dont assume what I was implying. I asked a simple question which was never answered,. Im sorry you didnt like that

and I will answer, challenge and take you to task on every accusation, criticism, slander, and every time YOU scream the F word at me. look in the dictionary under the word hypocrite, and it seems to describe you very well... you seem to be guilty of every criticism that you have inaccurately hurled at me.

You will regret ever crossing my path... I am a genuine person that takes great offense to ignorant people that do not bother to check their facts before they shoot off their mouth... engage your brain before you put your gob into gear.

Still scanning your threads... I suggest you do the same to me and see if you can back up you rude an ignorant accusations... but I doubt it.... but I am backing it all up with facts that you wrote... you really have picked on the wrong guy... you had better watch everything you write is accurate... cos I will be there.... but I do usually accept genuine apologies - as ;long as they are in the same public forum that the accusations are made
