Garry King is well liked by some but I see a big problem with some of the items I see on his site.  I'm not referring to Kenny Baker and other small bits but rather the large $$ music items.

Dealers in the UK might not be aware of current music item that they offer for sale.  In another thread several autographs from Autografica were deemed fake.  The items were Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston and Harrison Ford.

He might not know there is a problem.

Making threats on a public forum tells me all I need to know about you Barker!!

Whatever your grievance Im sure everyone will agree thats unacceptable!

Dick..

threats?   no threat at all... I just want you to be more careful with your accusations, so be more careful, there is no threat... just a promise that I will not tolerate being falsely accused of fakes by you, and will be ready to challenge you at any time.... Just remember... you directly accused me of pushing fakes when you had not done any research, and you were WRONG.   You also said that I should not pass opinions, even though they were observations, not opinions on authenticity... on my own thread, to someone about something that had nothing to do with you,  check mate Dick...your clutching at straws

that is exactly what you accused me of, I am going through your threads and you are an habitual troublemaker and I think Mike Shepherd has a very good point...

Interesting.  Now all of a sudden you are not saying anyone is right or wrong and you are just reserving judgement.  I understand that I am nothing more than an insignificant collector but I said that from the beginning when you were calling people who voiced their opinions forgers and demanded that they be silenced.  I have already explained our Fifth Amendment to you so perhaps you should take a look at our First Amendment.

dominic replied and told me that the source still claims it to be authentic, yet is still gonna offer a refund if i send it back , Seems like an honest seller ill let you guys know how it goes, im returning it tommorow

Offering a refund is the path of least resistance under the circumstances.  I'll take a rain check on the "honest" part at the moment.

@Mike Shephard, IMO, it all remains to be seen.  I've have heard the "out" being played again and again.  If AFTAL mbrs go down that route then we here in the US get to call it like we see it.

@Mick - way too often the terms of selling forgeries and forgers gets interchanged when it has no substance of fact.  Seems I've seen it way too often that if someone sells forgeries they get labeled a forger.  Bizarre to say the least.

What I don't understand is Steve's involvement in these phone calls with Garry.    What is the dicussion about?

I agree there is a massvive difference between selling on  a forgery and making one.

Hopefully this will be concluded pretty quickly now

I don't, they are equally as bad!

I agree.  I have said that from the beginning.  Let them sort things out over there.  What upsets me is that they turned the attention away from themselves by placing it on one of our members and now that member has disappeared.  I don't know him personally but it was evident that he was very passioinate about this hobby.  I don't like the idea that people should be afraid to speak their minds on this website.  It serves a valuable purpose.  I have said that over and over since I have joined.  And I am tired of people referring to a discussion that has been deleted entirely.  The only things that should have been deleted were the inappropriate personal exchanges.  Everything else has merit, especially now, so I hope that Steve will consider restoring it.  I believe that the dealer has good intentions but if this were happening to me I would not be able to concentrate very much on the Olympics and I certainly wouldn't have very much of an appetite.  I promised myself that I would just sit back and watch as things developed but the developments have caused me to reconsider.  I just want to know what is going on over there.  And over here.  That's all.

I can personally assure you it wasnt a case of turning the attention away from the topic Mike. The thread exploded once the F word was sprayed around when it shouldnt have been.

I dont understand why Mike Aring has left if he truely stood by what he was posting then he had no reason to leave. I do also hope that he will be back

Yeah it was such an attack Mike Aring was the one banned whilst tne invaders are still here!!!!

I must have missed this "British Invasion" when did that occur? As far as i can see, myslef and two others are probably the ony three brits on here!

That's how it always starts.. first just a few, then it will be the Sugar Act, Tax Act and Stamp Act (btw, Reznikoff might like that one!) followed by trying to have the queen nite ops parachutte in with Bond (ya know James bond).

actually there were 4 but Adrian ran away.

@Harry - I think Sebastian Cole brought the Brits a great olympics. I've also enjoyed watching it..  except I will never understand some of the events that are Olympics and btw the US ain't doing to bad on the medal count.   BTW, I asked Mick how runners on Phelps was doing and the reports so far don't seem positive.
