Garry King is well liked by some but I see a big problem with some of the items I see on his site.  I'm not referring to Kenny Baker and other small bits but rather the large $$ music items.

Dealers in the UK might not be aware of current music item that they offer for sale.  In another thread several autographs from Autografica were deemed fake.  The items were Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston and Harrison Ford.

He might not know there is a problem.

Yeah but these are not real Steve

So I see from the Tuesday AFTAL statement of them being genuine in their opinion no refunds have to be given !

You have the word of other UK dealers that Dominic supplied them with Adrians Jacksons also ?

These dealers are happy that suspicion has been passed on these autographs ?

its a sad world    greed

Now its been revealed Dominic is on the Board ?

I knew there were reasons I never joined AFTAL when I was invited

I think you will find that just about every dealer you have ever bought from buys stuff in and deems it authentic on trust. Usually trust earnt over a good number of years.

I didn't know that until I registered on this website.  Just call me naive I guess.  Maybe I just assumed otherwise since it makes no sense.

My own personal opinion is that Garry's hands have been tied some what here with regards to what action they have decided to take as an organisation. I cant speak for him but I do think he would have handled it differently just down to himself

I hope so, he is his own man and no organization worth it's salt would ask a member to do something that goes against what he knows is right.

What's funny is that everyone is rooting for Gary. However, the "board" very much put him in a bad spot. Until he proclaims otherwise, people will rightfully consider that he stands WITH the board and has deemed Adrian's MJ autographs as authentic.

Afterall that was then "official" statement.

I do still wonder if Gary or any AFTAL member presented testimony regarding MJ autographs while using Adrian's material as the example of record.

Are you saying that he wouldn't have issued that AFTAL statement?

The distributor of these MJ photos had a vote if they were real or not?  Really!

Just a little update, I talked to my friend here in Houston who had the 18 color 11x14 photos sent to him by Adrian about 6 months after MJ died; He told me Adrian was asking $250 each for the photos!!!!!  6 months later he still has 18 photos he just sent to the US for $250 each when if authentic would easily bring $1000.  If he had 18 left 6 months after he died how many did he have to begin with, 500?

This discussion get more and more interesting everyday!! ;)

I have no idea who posted the AFTAL statement. Im saying that from my experience Garry would have dealt with it differently if it was just down to himself

Unfortunately it will be very difficult to separate himself from AFTAL decisions at this point including the rumored pending attacks on Roger and Steve.  He must realize that.  None of this is any good for the hobby.  I hope that it can be resolved amicably.

I would be absolutely amazed if any rumoured attacks were to happen!! Id love to know where they came from as I cant believe Garry would play any part in such action.

Let's hope that you are correct.  Both sides have the same ultimate goal and that is to clean up the hobby for collectors like myself.
