Questions On Music items from UK dealer
Garry King is well liked by some but I see a big problem with some of the items I see on his site. I'm not referring to Kenny Baker and other small bits but rather the large $$ music items.
Dealers in the UK might not be aware of current music item that they offer for sale. In another thread several autographs from Autografica were deemed fake. The items were Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston and Harrison Ford.
He might not know there is a problem.

I remember asking for Steve's opinions on Michael Jackson autographs months ago. I brought up two sites; http://www.writestuffautographs.com/ (member of the AFTAL) and http://www.sportsignings.com/ (non-AFTAL).

Exactly, Steve. The seller has a dozen or so MJs and they all seem very similar to the source of the Mjs previously mentioned early on in this thread. Some of the AFTAL dealers (even non-AFTAL dealers like sportsignings, maybe) may be buying all of them from one bad link in the chain. I hope that the culprit is found and is rightfully punished for all of these garbage pieces

I don't want decent dealers treated like forgers and fraudsters anymore for making mistakes. For their sake and the sake of collectors and the autograph hobby.
It's hard enough to figure out who's good or bad without making dealers who try to do their best look like criminals, too. Everyone makes mistakes, but you can get a good idea from looking at someone's inventory if fakes are the exception or the rule.
Post and discuss questionable autographs? Absolutely. And use the dealers name if you want, but always kindly invite the dealer to join the discussion, or ask us to do it. But the lynch mob mentality has to go.

He has a great-looking football selection when I looked in the past. No malice to him at all, but it seems the MJs that many dealers have are bought from the same rotten source.

Agreed, Steve. If what is being discussed is true, it will be great for the hobby. Those MJs have been floating around (some sold, some not) for years. More importantly, justice should be brought to the forger. It's a real shame that many credible dealers have this slop in their stocks. Hopefully they get their money back, even if it requires help from the legislation in their respective countries.
Kudos to BJ Williams, the evaluation of these MJs has been long overdue.
