Thank you for posting the link to this. So often we tend to make heroes out of villains and vice versa. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle. Ty Cobb will always be remembered for phenomenal talent and likely the stories about him will continue. It is nice to see that letter and see him more as a human being than a pitchfork and torch wielding caricature.  I suppose the original collector never dreamed that FDC would have the value it does today.  Certainly a remarkable and fascinating achievement.
