I know some of you hate this, but I'm thinking of buying an inscribed baseball and removing the inscription. I REALLY hate inscriptions, so please don't bash me for this. I was just wondering if any of you know how to get rid of an inscription on a baseball. Thanks!

I stole that line from Jim Bouton, when he got traded.  "Dooley Womack???  THE Dooley Womack???"

LOL

Haha, was feeling a bit of sarcasm :P

I think I'll totally pass on the ball. The signatures are on one of the panels so even if I did remove the inscription it would look pretty ugly.

Cool.  Since it's a DiMaggio ball then i would definitely wait for another . ebay always has some.  You'll pay a little more if it's PSA or JSA certified, but I would recommend finding one you like that isn't certified, posting it on this site to verify authenticity and save a couple bucks.  It may take a few weeks but you'll get one.

Just wait on the dimaggio ball. I got couple that wasn't authenticated then sent it in later to get it authenticate.

When I visited Jets Training Camp at Hofstra University I stood on line for Joe Klecko to sign a football.  While waiting on line Dave Herman was greeting fans and signing their items as well.  Now when I have the remaining members of the New York Sack Exchange sign it one day I will have an obscure autograph on the football as well.  Like I said, it could make a great conversation piece.

I guess it's just personal preference. If something like that happened to me in real life that would be a great story, but in this case I would just buy it online.

In addition to Dave Herman adding an obscure autograph to my football I asked to see his Super Bowl III ring and he was more than willing to show it off in the bright sunlight.  It was very cool.

Having a personal connection like that I wouldn't mind.

I'm being offered a Joe DiMaggio signed newspaper photo (headshot around 7 by 9 inches) for $60, is that a good deal?

I'm thinking I can make a collage of old newspaper articles of him with that piece in the middle.

I would personally jump at that but I would still want to add an autographed baseball to my collection one day.  Are you sure that it is authentic?

Comes with a JSA letter. I really want a DiMaggio baseball but I guess I'll have to wait on that (currently spending a lot of money on framing haha.)

Any idea how I could display a piece like that? It's sort of like a rounded triangle so I'm wondering how I should display it.

Mike I've got a DiMaggio 11x14 I may be willing to sell for the right price.

I'd definitely consider that depending on how much you want. I'm currently looking into that newspaper clipping and also a cut signature that I may trade for with a friend. How much would you want for your photo and would you consider a trade?
