I used a craftsmart paint pen the other day on a jersey when I was out getting soccer autographs and the pen failed on me (even though I primed it and it worked fine right before being used by the signer). The signature came out so poorly and the shirt is rather pricey, so Id rather remove the signature from the jersey and try to get it resigned in the future. Is there a way to remove the paint pen without damaging the shirt itself? See attached.
This will be my last time using paint pens, as I have had bad experiences using them whenever I do. I got another item signed with a black sharpie the same day and it came out fine so I will be sticking with regular sharpies from now on.
I appreciate any advice!
Hi Mike P,
I just read something online yesterday about this, but after looking again, the "recipe" is not something I could ever endorse or even suggest! Soaking in hot milk? I dunno...I mean, it sounds more like breakfast to me. Hopefully, others will have better suggestions.
Eric
Rubbing alcohol has worked great removing paint pen off of my helmets. Pretty sure the rubbing alcohol will at the very least change the color of the blue of the jersey it touches. You could take a q-tip and use rubbing alcohol to see if it works. It may cause the number which appears to be iron on to break apart. If it was me I would look for a nearby custom jersey shop and see if they could replace the # for you.
