he would have to go back to the seller as these are the images posted in the listing.  While it is difficult to be certain from these photos, I do not like what I see.

William, great assessment and it seems you have studied Maris signatures.  I have spent a lot of time looking at this one, and while it does have a couple of positives, it has, in my opinion, some glaring issues.  I believe the forger used this marker in purpose to try to hide some of the characteristics.

I am not going to detail everything, but the most glaring problem with this signature is the capital R. This is an attempt at a later in life Maris signature. his earlier signatures (thru the early 60's) exhibited an upward stroke that bent slightly to the right when he formed the R.  in his later signatures, it was virtually a straight line.  This one bends, and almost every one I have seen like this, is a forgery.

I also do not like the shape of the g, specifically, the break to the right before he starts the descender of the g.  there are issues with the M and the letters in his last name also.

the baseline is also messy.

I would be surprised if this were deemed authentic, and if so, I would not want it under any conditions.

this is a ttm I sent around 1980 to his Gainesville distributorship.  is it close? yes, but not close enough for me say that the one in the discussion is  authentic.

So bottom line is you both would not advise me to purchase this card?

Troy, all I can say is that I would not purchase it.  it does not match up to my expectations for an authentic Maris signature.  Maybe it will pass PSA but I still would not want it.  For the reasons I presented.

You can get an authentic Maris signed card for under 400 dollars if you are patient.

Thank you both for all of your help!
