Picked up this original 1939 Ted williams george burke RPPC. Not sure on the auto though. Compared to known examples and the last name is a match but not sure. Any help would be great

I've seen that signature before, on appropriately dated, early Ted autographed pieces. I like the properties of the ink, it's convincing, and this looks like it could be the predecessor to the matured, more ornate Ted Williams signature that we're all used to seeing. Because of this, I think it's authentic.

Can't find any Thurman Munson like "T"s in his early autos.

From 1938, with his fully formed, classic "T" from later years.

From his early years until near the end, his signature did not undergo that much of a change.
