What a day for it to crash.Expecially messed up for the guys bidding on the big ticket pieces.

The auction will now close tomorrow. I can't recall when their website crashed like that before.

I called rr at around noon today, and they told me that it would be up and running by 1pm eastern time or so.I guess not.what crazy timing.
Certainly would have taken the heat out of the auction.
Does anyone know why it crashed, Y2K.
I'm sure it'll start to sizzle as soon as it goes online.

I can recall back in the early days of Ebay that site would crash fairly frequently. I won an unpublished snapshot of  Elvis circa 1965 from a seller in New York when Ebay crashed about 25 minutes before auction end and yours truly  was the high bidder at that time.

No last second bidders  to worry about on that one...and Bobs your uncle!!

Great story,do you still have the picture?

Yes I do Paul. It came out of a photo album of a famous person according to the listing..the seller would not divulge who that "famous person" was. Elvis wearing a light blue shirt...a nice close up looking directly into the camera.

It's a great shot...of course it is 1965 vintage quality too....none of this razor sharp digital mega-pixel stuff that we enjoy today. But it's unpublished. I suspect it's taken somewhere in Hollywood while Elvis was doing one of his many films...but that is just a hunch.

So I made a copy and had the some computer people adjust the colours (mostly his flesh tone) and crop it here and there...(the copy NOT the original). So the copy is now a 7x9  with an original autograph and all framed up.

Thanks for asking!!

Good for you Don bad for the owner of the Elvis.

They're ba-ack!
