Hi everyone!

So I've been looking to buy a set of Beatles autographs for a little while now, and I'm torn between whether I should go for this one, found on RR, which ends tonight:

https://www.rrauction.com/bidtracker_detail.cfm?IN=568

The good news is it's oversized when opened, standing at 9x5 x 14.5." But it's a little more than I anticipated spending -- currently, the lowest possible next bid is $6,800, which is over $8,000 with the buyer's premium.

Now, I do recognize that I will likely not find another one this size for a while. But my question for you all is how good of a value this is?

To be honest, I've been hoping to get a set for $5,500 or under, although based on my research it seems that may only get me an off-color, lower-tier, small page signed. If I keep a close eye on RR, can I get a quality set for a price like this eventually, one that goes for under estimate ( (not necessarily a big photo like the aforementioned auction, but maybe a more bolder set of signatures on a bigger album page)?

Or should I be expected to pay a higher rate for a more quality set -- an amount that would be not much less than the $8,000+ this magazine is going for?

Thanks for your help.

have you already placed a bid before the 30 minute rule kicks in?

It's coming very soon

Yes. But I appreciate the heads up.

I think this would be a bargain at $8000. If genuine, on a large image such as this.

Kicking myself for not jumping in! Unsure why the estimate on this one was only $6,500 and it only went for $6,200 (not including the buyer's premium) but the album page (albeit having bold signatures) was valued at $8k and went for $7,800.

Don't kick yourself, Tommy. The PYX centerfold is a nice piece, but George's autograph is low contrast and Ringo doesn't stand out either, so it's not a great display piece. That's why it didn't bring $10,000+.

I bet you'll find something you like even better soon. Beatles autographs are like Babe Ruth's—they're not rare, they're expensive because they're in high demand. (Albums, signed photos and other special pieces are a different story.)

Makes sense. Thanks so much!

Agree. There's always some initial disappointment when an opportunity passes by but there will be other opportunities and when you finally get it you'll love it. The hunt's a big part of the thrill.

I'm very exited personally, I just completed the purchase of my first Beatles autograph set. It's that same PYX booklet, autographed on the front. I should be receiving it within the next week.

Very exciting. Congratulations!

congrats! Where did you purchase from?

Thanks, Tommy. From Frank Caiazzo.

Frank is the creme de la creme of Beatles dealers and authenticators.

You can't do better then Frank...he is the best!!! TRACKS is excellent also!! Congrats!!!
