I have heard this story for a while-one of two known Beatles signed guitars was lost when the house fell into the Pacific Ocean. This has taken on and old wives tale type fee cause it is so preposterous.

Does anyone have real info on this Who's house fell into the water? Were the remains of the guitar recovered? When was it?

Also seems odd that only two are known/ There must be a few more out there somewhere, right? I mean, where late 50's early 60's contemporaries of the Beatles' signing guitars??

I've seen this topic discussed before also and have no more details of the one that 'died' in the landslide.

There's a signed guitar that's IMO ruined by the fact that the signatures have been crudely carved over. I have also read of one owned by Shane Fenton AKA Alvin Stardust. It's also supposed to be signed by just about everyone who was anybody in the late 50's to early 60's UK rock/pop scene. I once saw a picture of it in which you couldn't make out individual signatures. It looked tatty but of course must be worth a fortune if it is as described (the owner certainly had the access required for it to be so).

There was also that one that used to be paraded around US conventions in the 70's. The owner said that Derek Taylor took the guitar and woke up The Beatlers and got them to sign by imprinting from gold leaf. I think the owner had a letter from Derek Taylor that corroborated his story but might have just been written because he was put on the spot and didn't want to say "I didn't really wake them up and get them to sign". I've only seen a bad picture but it didn't look good.

I am also aware of one given away in Germany in 1966 that was locked in a vault for decades....before the owner found out the signatures were done by Neil!

Which two are you referring to Sling?
