Smashing Pumpkins Forgery

OK. Let me say that first of all this item is garbage and needs to be removed from ebay. The second thing that I need to point out is that this particular forgery has been making it's way onto ebay fairly frequently. And it's not just my opinion that this autograph is a forgery, this is also Billy Corgan's opinion. Just check out the pics and screen shot from Billy's Twitter page below and you will be able to figure it out.

First off, I was the one who posted the top photo with the purple signatures on eBay and have since taken the posting down on my own volition. I honestly did not know it was a forgery and would like to apologize to Travis Christenberry, who posted this, and to anyone who may come across this page. A buyer asked about the validity of the photo so I did some more research and, to my surprise, found my photo here. The woman I purchased it from gave me a story that she met the band and got their autographs and needed to get rid of the photo because of a connection to a bad prior relationship. I found similar autographs online to confirm that mine were legit (obviously the ones I found were probably fake as well). I did not, nor would I ever intentionally post a fake or forgery of anything. I take my eBay business seriously and I am a very honest seller. This was an honest mistake, and again, I am very sorry that the listing was ever posted and would absolutely not have posted it had I known it wasn't real.

Also, to Travis: I would have honestly appreciated a personal message through eBay if you knew that my photo was a fake, so that I would know as well . I know there are plenty of scammers on eBay, but there are also those of us that may make an honest mistake without realizing it.

That's fantastic dirtymop5!!! I understand what you mean completely. But please understand that almost every time that I try to contact an ebay member, I either get cursed at or I get threatened. It really gets old. So I post bad ebay items here on AML, then ebay (who watch this site with lots of interest) takes care of the rest. The fact that you took the item down on your own speaks volumes about your character. I applaud and admire your honesty.

Thank you, and yes, I can understand your point. It's really a shame that there are sellers that would respond like that, let alone post fraudulent things knowingly. I really appreciate your positive response, and I'm glad that the listing was caught before somebody besides me bought the same fake. I am thankful that there are sites like these for both buyers and sellers. Had I known about this site, I certainly would have inquired about the photo before I posted it.
