How does this George from his genesis book Songs by George Harrison Volume 2 look? I don't know think these have been widely forged but thought best to check anyhow, thanks

It looks authentic to me.

Thanks Ballroom, I paid £800 for it which seems like a reasonable price? Regards

That does seem like a good price. I think it would be tough to find one for much less than that.

I never heard of a forgery of a Genesis book. These were part of an official partnership between Genesis books and GH - he signed three lithographs, and at least six book editions including this one.

Yeah I don't think I've seen the book themselves be forged but I do know there are some copies of the signature page which exist

I'd heard about Chinese forgeries of this book; is this the same thing? IMO, the one you're showing is authentic.

Thanks Raul

So I have an interesting development regarding the Songs by George Harrison book I purchased.

I have noticed that the signature page appears to be the volume 1 page, whilst everything else shown in the listing appears to be from the volume 2 version. For example, the vinyl pictured is the 1992 Volume 2 vinyl, and a page showing 'All things must pass' is highlighted, although this song was only featured in the Volume 2 edition.

Was 'Volume 2' ever released with signatures using the 'Volume 1' limitation page?

So I did some digging and it appears in 2019, the book was rereleased by Genesis.

On their website it says "This unique book and record boxed set is limited to 2,500 numbered copies, each one personally signed by George Harrison (there are two designs of Songs By George Harrison signature page that are being employed) and Keith West."

Here's a screengrab from the page which shows an example of the 'Volume 1' style signature page being used for 'Volume 2'.

I'm assuming my example is one of these 2019 rereleases? Would very much appreciate any insight from anyone who knows anything about the 2019 release.

I've also attached a close-up of the signature from my example below.

I saw this listing for Abe Books which appears to show the volume 1 signed page design sold with a volume 2. I really don't know the story on whether these were interchanged at some stage https://www.abebooks.com/signed-first-edition/Songs-George-Harrison...

Thank you. This copy seems similar to mine.

I believe subsequent releases of the volumes made use of the signature pages interchangeably, from what I can see. The signature pages were glued onto the book in both volumes originally as well.

As it says on Genesis' website for the Volume 2 rerelease "(there are two designs of Songs By George Harrison signature page that are being employed)". So, hopefully that's all that is going on here?
