Steve asked me to start a new thread since some were having a lot of issues with regards to whether or not the through the mail autographs of Jerry Lee Lewis are real or not.  I will post some examples of what we have been getting recently and some know in person examples.   These TTM signatures are not cheap.  You have to pay $50 for them to his box office box.  The question is are they real or not.  Roger has said that he has never seen Mr. Lewis sign this way and it looks to perfect - like a woman's signature.

Please post your thoughts here and examples.

thanks

Mark

I am just passing along what I was told.

She is saying he, Jerry Lee, signs them all, actually enjoys doing it at home and will even give me proof in the form of a photograph of Jerry signing an item for me. This proof photograph should say a lot. I estimate this whole thing should be resolved one way or another within 2 weeks or so. This was confirmed to me this morning.

She was not trying to get more money out of me or us for any past purchases or anything. It seems they are getting hundreds of requests and it just makes sense to charge appropriately.

Regarding the refund, she seems to just want me to be happy. If I don't trust them, I could get a refund. I am trying to still work with them to see how it all turns out. I hope this helps clarify things.

Chad - I again.. Appreciate all that you have done!!! THANKS!!!  I am not coming down on you.

Roger says they are no good.  Until I see different.  I have to go with his opinion.

Are you sending something ELSE in and paying the $100??

thanks

Mark

Mark, I don't blame you going with Roger on this. I am just seeing how it plays out.

I am not sending any more money. This morning, I priority mailed a new item to Jerry Lee to sign and Judith is supposed to take a photo of him signing the item for me. She agreed to do this for me (us).

that's great news!

Thats how I read it too.  Very HMMM.  The staff is overwhelemd, but Jerry isnt>  The items come back in about a week.  Now if you send 100.00, you can be sure its real.    She didnt exactly give a ringing endoresment for the 50.00 orders. The whole thing smells rotten!

It sounds to me like you just might get an authentic Jerry signature b/c of your hard work, and a proof photo of him with your photo as well. But i think 2 things may happen, b/c as we all know, signature style dont wildly change in every single characteristic with no IP examples to back them up, and that no celeb is likely to admit a sec or assistant signing fan mail (although there are exceptions). I have no idea about Jerry or his signing habits, but i can speculate that either:

1.) you will get an authentic piece with Jerry posing with the photograph he has just signed.

OR

2.) You will get the same exact signature that has been coming back (the style everyone is questioning, and that Roger says is bad) with Jerry posing with it. This would be the way to go seemingly, if someone else is signing, and if the "proof" shot is going to be Jerry holding the picture up that he supposedly just signed. If this is the type of proof that is given, in order to avoid past concerns of the authenticity of sent in pieces, it wouldnt be outlandish to think that the assistant would still sign the picture (to keep the writing style the same that everyone is questioning), and then have Jerry take a picture holding it up like he just signed it.

Now again, i have no idea on this matter, but have been following it, and find it interesting. And the offer to supply proof is a generous offer. Although the inflating price is very strange to me. But the only proof that would clear this up, in my opinion, would be a video of Jerry signing your photo, up close, so there is no doubt, and if the signature he is signing matches all the ones people have been getting back TTM. Without that, i wouldnt trust the proof i was given, if it were me, and i was concerned about the matter. With all the controversy around it, and the potential for alot of refunds if thingns were to go sour, i would trust nothing less. Just my 2 cents though

I am currently in the process of reading through this discussion and I was thinking the same exact thing Carl.  I can't wait to see how this all ends.

Sounds like she got caught and is trying to dance around it.  If he really signed them, why would she offer anything?  They will look the same.

I do think it's amazing you contacted her though, great job and maybe this will be her wake up call.

Thanks for all your work - Chad

Mark

Yes great work Chad and Mark, and thanks to Roger for his valuable input!  JLL is certainly worth 100.00 especially on a 50's item, but now its wait and see if the 'new' ones are indeed signed by the man.  Chad, I believe yours will be since you called her out on this, but who knows about other future orders!  I think as Roger said, she did get caught and is trying to dance around this thing.  One thing perplexes me though.  How are they getting swamped with orders if there is no advertisement for this?  I only found out thru this website, not Jerry's.  I wonder if he was as swamped years ago when these autographs were offered on his website?  And why did the price suddenly double because they are going to be real now?

Steve, Mark and others,

What will really mess with us is if she sends an image of JLL signing something and it turns out his signature from home is so much different than his in person. In other words, what if this shows the ones we have are real. I can't see how that can be but am just perplexed by the whole thing.

As far as her dancing or anything, she is not coming off that way. As far as the staff issue, I'm thinking they open the mail, set it out, Jerry signs it and they repackage and take it to the post office. The staff has more work than Jerry.

I'm not trying to make excuses or stand up for these folks. I just want to see how it ends up before we condemn anyone.
