STUDY: Jerry Lee Lewis - TTM real or not real

Steve asked me to start a new thread since some were having a lot of issues with regards to whether or not the through the mail autographs of Jerry Lee Lewis are real or not. I will post some examples of what we have been getting recently and some know in person examples. These TTM signatures are not cheap. You have to pay $50 for them to his box office box. The question is are they real or not. Roger has said that he has never seen Mr. Lewis sign this way and it looks to perfect - like a woman's signature.

Please post your thoughts here and examples.

Thanks, Mark. I will await an explanation as to why only yours is authentic. The "Keep Rockin'" inscription from Mark P.'s LP is an important component that should also be addressed.

The "To Mark" on Mark Petersons album is WAY off being in the hand of Jerry Lee Lewis.

This photo was received along with the signed LP. Didn't we establish that the "Killer" inscription is in his hand? He used the same style "K" in "Thank" as was used for the LP dedication. In the case of the photo, he used a block letter "K" for the dedication. That's his writing style. He mixes cursive and block letters, and uppercase and lowercase letters, as seen here:

Here's the IP signed photo from XP autographs containing the same "Killer" inscription.

That is not Jerry's handwriting. Sorry nor signature - with the exception of the lower one from Pop Goes the Country - but he didn't write Killer on it. More than one hand is at work here.

Well, thank you for acknowledging the authenticity of that signature (and squiggle?). That said, the ones that are alleged to be in more than one hand contain dedications. I'm not sure why someone else would simply write "Killer" and then have JLL sign it. Notice that the signature is immediately below and at the same angle as the inscription. In any case, XP Autographs claims to have obtained that one in person.

Here is the differences I see in this -

1. the "L" in Lewis is different.

2. the loop in the L in LEE is different - even the way the loop starts in Lewis is different.

3. The slant in L is Lewis is off compare to the authentic one.

And the MAIN thing when looking at Mark Peterson's signed album - You have to look at the whole signature - the "To Mark" is off. Jerry does not make his "T" like that. The Keep Rockin from his album is WAY off compared to the one I just provided. That is HUGE difference.

Looking all ALL those things together make me not like Mark Peterson's album as being in the hand of Jerry Lee - in my opinion.

In other words, the appearance of the "L"s doesn't vary across all of the JLL signatures that you consider to be authentic? Only signatures with "L"s that that are consistent in shape and slant with the signature on your album should be considered authentic?

Been a while since someone posted a Jerry Lee. Thought I would shake things up and post a recent acquisition of mine.

Thoughts on it?? I think its 100% real. This is a great example of the type of line he "does" sometimes draw under his signature

I like it and agree that would be the type of line he may draw. Certainly no elongated squiggly. BTW, I just came back from Nashville where I saw some JLL sigs in the Johnny Cash museum. One large one on an 11x14 Million Dollar Quartet photo. It looks like all the IP or ones we deemed authentic. No quiggle at all.
