His reluctance to sign certainly has driven up the price of fully signed Monkees items. You can get a nice photo signed by Micky, Davy and Peter for under $100, but add Mike's signature and it's $300+. I've seen one sell for as high as $600. I doubt that he would ever do an autograph show. It seems to be solely a matter of principle with him.
Live an learn. There was a private signing done by all 4 in the 90's on the famous photo of them sitting on the chairs. 11x14. It was well under $300 at the time. Should have jumped on it!
I was told they signed 500 copies of that photo and 500 of the Headquarters Lithograph. Selling price was $50 each in 1996. I wish i had known it about then!
Mike's solo tour starts later this month. There is talk of him doing meet and greets at every show for a limited number of fans. If it happens he might be willing to sign some Monkees stuff.
I met him at a meet and greet a couple of years ago. He signed one "Monkee" item which I needed for my Monkee photo, but did not put a limit on his solo stuff. Caught him at the Motor City Comic Con last weekend. I needed my Mike "Monkee" doll signed. Now I have 3 of 4 signed. But it will cost you, he does not sign cheaply!
I was able to meet Mike after his show at the Canyon Club outside Los Angeles in March at one of his meet and greet receptions - he was signing one Monkees item per person but I was able to get a second record signed by trading a fan in line a Nesmith 7" and a gold sharpie. Just thought I'd show some genuine items for consideration and mild bragging rights (I've been working on getting the guys together for about ten years - I regret not getting Davy on that Headquarters album - Peter signed at a Labor Day concert in 2003 or so, Micky at an autograph show in Burbank a year or two ago, and Michael at the meet and greet. I'm very proud of picking my pens to match the color scheme of the record). It's interesting to see the variation between their autographs even just over a few years (or in the case of Mike's, just a few minutes).
I dig the Monkee mobile under it! Great touch!
