Anyone please?

Do not have a clue about Shaw and/or Newman's signature(s), but, both these sig's sure look like they were signed by the same pen, same handwriting. Shaw died September of 1978. The likelihood of this being his signature would be very slim at best.

Met a guy on Martha's Vineyard a few years back at a Jawsfest. He had 3 of Shaw's signatures, but all signed in ballpoint pen. I do not remember the above looking like at what he had.

Jaws came out 2 years after this soundtrack so I don’t think it’s that unlikely.

I’m happy with the Shaw sig it’s the Newman I’m not overly familiar with.  I think there was a study here which I’ll look at if I can find it.  The pens look different to my eyes.  Newman’s looks like a straight edge/chisel tipped pen to me.  Either that or just different pen pressures between them.  Hmm.  Still none the wiser :-).  Wish it had Redfords to consider too.

Thanks Stephen.

Thank Joe.  Interesting read.

Newman's signature is a secretarial at best. Shaw's signature is not genuine.

Ah that’s what was nagging me about Newman’s.

Surprised about Shaw really but there you go.

Ill be passing on this I think.

Thanks Joe.
