Hello All:

I know authenticating is a tricky business (and Roger may have even participated in discussions on this site at one point) but is it just me or is he FAR less reliable than PSA, Beckett, and JSA? This would encompass not only Beatles but all historical and musician autographs. They all of course make mistakes but Epperson seems to pre-certify a high percentage of non genuine. I was browsing RR auctions and they seem to rely on him for a lot of pre-authentications but so much is obviously not authentic it is a shame. Meanwhile all of the Tracks, Beckett, PSA and JSA look fine.  I am not an authenticator but even my not-so-professional eye can easily spy the abundance of items on RR that only are pre-certified by Epperson and are not genuine.

He must have a niche but I do not know what it is.

I really like Roger. I actually see so many more questionable autos from psa, jsa, and/or Beckett than from Epperson. I think Ballroom points out many many for us. I do think Roger calls the forgers out and they don’t like that. I have read where they will try to drag his name through the mud because of it. I would trust him more than psa/jsa/beckett any day of the week to be honest. I do think he’s worth every penny and more for his opinion. He has saved me from being burned. Just my opinion. :)

Hit or miss in my experience, I've seen some real stuff authenticated by him.

I sent him two images of my fake Joey Ramones and said both were authentic and to have me send them in, while everyone here said it was fake and was right to do so.

Year's down the line I can't believe i bought those fakes they looked so bad, I was brand new to autographs.

No offense to Roger or anyone who uses him I know he gets a lot of praise here but I didn't have the best experience with him.

(And yes I know they are just images over the internet but for how bad they were he should've known they weren't real.)
