Dear fellow members,
My name is Maarten Prinsen and I’m a new member from the Netherlands. I’m a big fan of Tim Burton and in particular The Nightmare Before Christmas. I met hom briefly at a book signing last year and got his signature in person. However, I also wanted a sketch of Jack Skellington, so I bought a signed book that has a sketch as well. The seller told me it was signed back in the 90’s at a book signing event at UCLA. He sold many vintage Nightmare Before Christmas items that he had collected as well. This made his story more credible to me. He also had another signed item that I didn’t buy, but was something only a few fans/theater managers would have. Before buying the book, I looked at a lot of autographed items from years ago and that’s what sealed the deal for me.
I was wondering if any members over here can shed some light on my autographed book. I’d really appreciate it.

The head appears to have been slowly drawn. Is it a continuous line? It appears to have a break in the flow on the right side.
Thanks for your reply. To the best of my knowledge, it’s a continuous line. I’ve seen recent drawings and they all appear to have the line for the head not completely touching on the left side (as seen in the sketch in my picture). Enclosed is a recent sketch that I 100% know to be real.92D56978-02C3-46ED-A34E-9406263B7F7B.jpeg
I am not referring to the space. I am referring to what appears to be an overlap on the right side. It may be the image. The “B” also appears to be atypical. The lower part does not usually appear to be so rounded. It may be that it is an early version of his signature.
Thanks Mike. :) I knew you were referring to the right side and I believe it is the image. I also own the limited edition giclee set of Nightmare Before Christmas prints issued by Neca that were signed by Tim Burton and compared the signature to those. Enclosed is a picture in which the B is more round at the bottom like the one in the book.
Very good.
Thanks. Do you think it’s authentic now with the picture of the other vintage signature? :)
