I'm pretty sure I was conned on this and didn't add up all the red flags until AFTER I completed the transaction. I have a dispute open with PayPal as the app I bought this from (Mercari) won't do anything since I completed.  Yes, I have learned my lesson about buying auto's in this day in age and especially Tom Brady auto's, but I wanted to run it by this group.

This is definitely a fake.  You shouldn’t have any trouble getting a refund through PayPal.  If you want a real Brady, your best bet is to make sure it’s from Tristar.  Brady signs items for Tristar.  You can still get a real Brady that isn’t throug Tristar, but you have to know what to look for which comes with study and experience.

Thank you. I have learned a lot in two weeks. I have a dispute open with PayPal but I'm not sure what proof they will want that it's fake. I don't want to put any more money into it by paying a professional company but that may be the route. I have learned Brady signature has changed so part of me wanted to believe the story I was told.

Brady’s autograph has changed since his first few years in the league.  But this is way off.  I definitely would not send this in for authentication.  It would be a waste of money.  You may use this discussion here for PayPal purposes.

Let them know that you put this autograph up for review on a highly-regarded autograph collectors’ website, and you were told this is fake.  Tell PayPal that the “item was not as described” because you were led to believe you were purchasing an authentic Brady autograph, but this is fake.

If you’re interested in another Brady autograph, I would just make sure it comes with Tristar authentication.  Tristar actually is with Brady when Brady signs items.  That way you’ll know for sure you’re getting the real thing.

Here is an un-authenticated Brady rookie year autograph.  This is without Tristar, but it’s real.

Now here is how he signs today with Tristar.

Both autographs are authentic.

that photo in the OP is a horrible fake.  You should have no trouble getting your money back.  Brady charges a minimum of $1,000 per item nowadays, more depending on the item to be signed.  As James indicated, you can find a deal once in a while, ( I have at least 5 Brady signatures from different points in his career) but you really have have studied his signature styles to pull this off.

unless he signed it flat drunk after his 6th super bowl win...
