Hi Everyone I bought a few of Brady's RC's recently from the 2000 press pass series in which he autographs one of the cards.

I bought two from one seller and one from an additional seller.  To me it's one thing to fake an auto, but to reprint a card and then do the auto as well would be something.  However, I would not put it past anyone to make some cash.

I am going to post two of the photos from the listings.  Please look at the photos and let me know if you think either of these phtotos of the two cards looks to have a fake or an authentic autograph from tom brady.

Tom Brady Auto real or forged?

Looks like his rookie autograph. I'll lean towards good.

it does look like it, but I'm specifically talking about the signatures on the cards. also, there are reprints of the card out there. any way to tell if they are reprints?

As far as reprints? I can't determine that. Hopefully others will chime in as well.

I wouldn’t be able to tell if the cards are reprints.  That may be something that even someone well-versed in that subject may need to view in-hand to be able to determine...not sure.

As for the autographs, assuming the cards are not reprints, I think the autographs are very much likely genuine.  I have been studying Tom Brady’s autograph styles quite a bit over the last year.  As a result, I think I’ve become fairly competent in identifying what is good and what is fake.

And I must say that this Brady rookie style confused me a lot when I first saw it.  To me, it just didn’t look like what I had come to know as his “rookie” autograph.  However, for these rookie cards that he signed, instead of signing some form of “Tom” for his first name, he must have decided to sign “Th” as an abbreviation for “Thomas” and then include his middle initial “E” and then his abbreviated last name.  To me, it looked really strange upon first viewing, but then I realized what he was doing.  So I would say that this rookie style is probably more rare since I personally have only seen it on these cards.

Given the fact that I think the autographs are authentic, I must therefore conclude that the cards are the genuine article as well.  For someone to make that good of a reproduction of the cards AND then do such a great job of forging the autographs would be quite a feat!
