obviously rare ; - but any thoughts as to why it was worth someone paying over $12,000 without postage, insurance etc ? One could buy one and a half beatles sets for that amount
We were trying to figure that out, too. I guess all it takes is two people with a lot of cash to HAVE to have it. But that does not remotely represent the "real" value of vintage signatures. I've seen more desirable items go for a fraction of that.
I'll give credit where credit is due - this is a premium piece. The vintage signatures are authentic and look pristine, and the item overall looks fantastic for its age. I guess you don't really see much from the era that looks this remarkably clean.
That being said, I would think the high end of something like this would be $3000.
