I thought this might be cool. Tell what concerts you are going to see. Let us know if you liked or disliked the show. Maybe show a picture, autograph, guitar pick, drumstick, or a cool story .

Saw CHVRCHES perform for the 28th time in Tempe, AZ on Sunday, and it was definitely a unique one.
I had my rail spot and was looking forward to seeing the band again. The show started as usual, but I noticed by the first song that something might be off. Lauren was slightly more restrained than usual, and then I noticed she was skipping verses. By the third song, it was clearly a struggle to see, and I saw the frustration mounting. This was very strange. She's one of those singers who just never has a bad night. Halfway through the song she yelled "Stop, stop . . " Martin then explained that Lauren was really sick. After huddling for a minute, the band left the stage. They came back about 10 minutes later, with a clearly emotional Martin saying they'd do what they could.
If all of this sounds like a recipe for a bummer of a night, you'd be right. But that's not what happened at all. Martin took over lead vocals for "We Sink," a song Lauren usually sings. He then launched into two songs he does typically perform - "High Enough to Carry You Over" and "Under The Tide." He poured everything he could into those ten minutes, after which Lauren came back to the mic, sat down and explained that she tried her best to push ahead. The tickets would be valid for a makeup show in October. She then said she was going to try her best to make it through one more, and performed their best known song "The Mother We Share."
Honestly, despite the short set and unfortunate circumstances, the way the crowd and band connected when Martin went all out for his bit was incredible. I've actually never been to anything like this.
Here's the video of Martin performing We Sink in place of Lauren:

Just won four tickets to Ellie Goulding next week!
Ended up with second row dead center for Billy Idol in Milwaukee. Should be fun.
