I must add that I bought this many years ago off (gulp) ebay when I was naive and hugely wanted this to be real. It's my favourite VH album cover and I love it for its artistic value (although TBH I'd love for the signatures to be real!)

It was the last time I got my fingers burnt! Every autograph I have since has been collected personally (my favourite being Sammy Hagar who I was lucky to meet in London when they co-headlined Wembley Stadium with Bon Jovi).

Yeah,  yeah, 'cool story bro' and all that! :P

Thanks. I suspected as much. 

Would love any VH experts to chip in. I thought a couple on here looked quite convincing when I bought it.

Here is a set of autographs from 1984. So I have to say that the original posted autographs are not real.

Thanks for posting up that pic. The 'Anthony', 'Alex Van' and 'Roth' look similar. Although on mine, it looks like someone has just written 'Eddie Van Halen' without any thought for the original!
