It was 100 years ago today that (some) women first got the vote in the UK.

To celebrate, here are two of the leading suffrage campaigners - Emmeline and Christabel Pankhurst.

These are ink autographs and not printed signatures.

...and her daughter Christabel

Great stuff Pug.  Been on a search for an Emmeline signed book for ages now, found a couple by one of the daughters but yet to find an Emmeline.  Wish me luck!

Thanks. Good luck with your search. I don't actually remember seeing a signed book by Emmeline but I'm sure there are some out there. There is a book signed by Christabel on eBay at the moment but it is from the late 20s I think.

I am a keen collector of suffrage material in general (not just the WSPU) but the autograph side of the collection is not exactly massive.

Thanks Pug.  Yes, have that in my watch list and I swither and dither over it every day, but think I'll try to hold out for the unobtainable!

signed items by any and all the main players are pretty few and far between so to have anything is worthy of a 'congrats', so...congrats!
