I have a slight opportunity to possibly get Paul McCartney to sign an album.  I am thinking  about going with  Sgt. Peppers.

Here is the question -

Would you go for a not so perfect original stereo copy (do not have a mono copy) or would you go with a perfect newer reissue Mono that they just came out with??

Original with flaws?

or

Reissue perfect?

thanks with your opinions.

Personally I'd rather have a nicer display piece than worry about the originality of the album.  Good luck, he's one of the hardest to get.

I agree.  If his autograph hadn't changed so much over the years I might have said otherwise, but I think a nice new crisp LP is the way to go.

thanks for the replies!

I would go new album for framing and I think Sgt Pepper is a great idea .

The new reissues streak and bubble like crazy and they are difficult to prep to avoid that. Fair warning.

Thanks for the input. The new releases are very very slick and I was worried about s

Over the last couple years he hasn't been willing to sign many Beatles albums. If Mike, his security is with him he won't let it happen. If you don't bring a solo album you may not get him at all. Just a fair warning. Every time he see's Sgt Pepper he always mutters something about ebay now. And personally, the cover is not the best of theirs anyway. If you have a special one on one moment in a privileged situation I'd get Rubber Soul signed in Silver, far rarer and is their best cover and frankly one of their best albums. If you are thinking you are going to get him on tour... lol.... good luck, he doesn't really do it anymore and his guys make you write your own name and city in the front cover of the album. So, make sure you get a new reissue that is glossy so you have take it off after. Good luck.

I have been there and done that.. I waited for Sir Paul in the cold and got the how write this, write this on the album and MAYBE he will sign it.  And his bus just kept right on going.

I have someone who is friends with Sir Paul and hopefully my chances are a little better.  But still nothing is for certain.

Thanks for your input
