Chris,

The authenticity of TTM autographs is interesting to a lot of collectors. A lot of people read this site on their phones, though, so keeping image file sizes small enough that they'll load quickly on them can get you a lot more responses. If you upload images as medium to high quality JPGs no more than about 1000 pixels on any one side, that should work well.

thanks Mr. Cyrkin, i will remember that.

Have a good evening

Chris

Hey Chris,

I just had time to look at your Clapton and Page. I'm sure the Clapton is good. I think the Page is, too, but not as comfortable with him. You'll get more dependable opinions than mine, but if these are any indication, you're lookin good. Love to see the kind of letter you wrote.

I'm not an expert, just a collector. I think I'm comfortable giving an opinion on two of them. Since these are ttm, we can rule out forgeries.

Robert De Niro - Ruling out forgeries for De Niro really helps. The writing looks organic to the signature. I don't have an example of De Niro's cursive now but I believe it matches well. The signature is like many I've seen but I'm not a scribble authenticator. More importantly, I haven't seen a secretarial from De Niro that looks or tries to look like his authentic signature. Ruling out forgery, and ruling out secretarial, means authentic.

Bonnie Raitt - I believe she has a good reputation for answering fan mail. Perhaps we'll learn sometime that it's all secretarial, but based on the examples I've seen, it looks good as well.

Unless what I've seen from Stevie Nicks is all secretarial, I think it matches well and is probably authentic too but I'd be less sure on that.

Chris is doing really well, isn't he? He needs to teach a course in writing to celebrities.
the nicks looks good

You got Rush TTM? I've never seen anyone in the fan club ever get them TTM and I've seen probably 500 attempts to include venues.

Looks good. Matches the in person sigs I have of them. The Lifeson is a little sloppy but characteristics all consistant Got them all 5 times. Peart and Lee an additional time by themself. The Lee baseball is my favorite. He sat in front of me at a Diamondbacks game unexpectedly the night before they played in Phoenix. Had nothing since I had no clue he would be there so bought a baseball. Probably my favorite single item.

Waters is very nice. Seen a million of them. Just have never caught him myself. On my top 10 list though.

Page.....hmmm. Think I'll let somebody else with more experience look at that. I'd have to send it in.

Deniro I have seen a couple in person sigs of him. They don't look the same to me. I'm no expert though. Could be the setting in which it was signed. Ones I've seen were on the fly. Nice example if it turns out to be authentic. Better auto then those I've seen which were sloppy scribbles. Seems he signs heavier on the examples I've looked at. Yours looks like a very light writing and pen pressure.

Nice scores though....

Alright. I'll save you the PSA authentication fee.

Authentic Robert De Niro note -

Please note his decision to write in cursive and the overall sloppiness of his writing, replete with letters that he doesn't form fully. Take a closer look at the "the" he writes and the "best". The gap between "t" and "h". When he's forming the "h," De Niro doesn't trace over his writing back up to the loop in "h". Sloppy, barely formed "e" at the end.

In De Niro's letter "e" in the note and in your ttm autograph, there's little or no hole in it. Look at the opening to the "a" in "all" from your ttm auto and in "at" from the note. Then turn your attention toward "best," and the unique way De Niro crosses the "t" without lifting his pen. You can see that when he writes "at" as well. It's present in both the note and your ttm auto. Most of the major characteristics in his cursive writing have remained consistent over the past 26 years as you can see.

Let's just accept that this guy is going to write a book on how to make your ttm request a success and maybe he'll give Autograph Magazine Live a special thanks at the end.

Nice. Has the best success I've ever heard of. Top notch sigs too.

Thank you for the responses everyone, it lets me know my work hasnt gone wasted. I live in WV so no real possibility of getting stuff in person, so buying or VV is my only way so i try and write good letters. Yeah i did get the Rush in TTM,  i was surprsied too. Up until i told someone i got them, i didnt think they were that difficult to get via the mail, but i guess they are pretty hard. So i was very happy. The one down side is since i dont have money to buy printed photos all the time, most of my autos are on home printed photos which will probably cut down on their photo life, but oh well. I got In Journey, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, and Derek Trucks here in the last month, which have been great,  but i want post those unless someone wants to see them. Im going to keep trying Bob Dylan, Ringo, and Paul McCartney TTM, lol, i know it wont happen and have already gotten the standard to busy to sign letter many times, but all it costs me is a few stamps to try, so who knows, maybe ill catch someone on a giving day, stranger things have happened, lol. But i probably will get struck by lightening first. Thanks everybody.

The odds of being struck by lightning are better than the odds of getting a genuine Clapton by mail like you got, so be careful next time it rains.

That's not like any Sting I've seen before, unfortunately, but maybe others have.

A good place to check for rock examples is Roger Epperson's site, www.signedsealeddel.com
