Depends on what you are looking for. If you are into sports, check out signingshotline.com; they have just about every autograph appearance from the sports world. Pretty easy to navigate. Also check your local sports teams websites. They always have information about different events the players appear at. I hardly ever listen to FM radio anymore, and found that the AM radio stations advertise events that celebrities make appearances. Also, autographmagazine.com has a section where events are listed. And, if you find out about an event and make it to one, talk to the people waiting in line with you about how they find out about events. I have found that to be the best way to get the inside scoop on where people show up.
